After playing college baseball, Ben Brecht was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays to play professionally. Many of Ben’s teammates received large signing bonuses and while this was a blessing, it also provided almost unlimited financial means to 18–21-year-olds with limited knowledge about how to manage it. While Ben’s teammates in the big leagues are doing great financially, many who have been released are in difficult financial situations that could have been avoided with sound advice and planning.

Ben received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and went on to earn his master’s degree in management from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. After attending business school, Ben joined the Hightower Signature Wealth (formerly known as Private Vista) team with the goal of bringing positive change to people like his former teammates. Ben enjoys vacationing anywhere near a beach, and if the beach is not a possible destination, then you can find him golfing with friends and family.
