Ben Brecht

Associate

After a successful college baseball career, Ben Brecht was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays to play professionally. His time in baseball gave him a first-hand look at the financial opportunities and challenges that can come with a professional sports career. Many of Ben’s teammates received substantial signing bonuses at a young age. While those opportunities were life-changing, they also brought significant financial responsibility to 18- to 21-year-olds who often had limited experience managing wealth.

That experience left a lasting impression on Ben. While many of his former teammates who reached the big leagues have built strong financial foundations, others who were released from professional baseball have faced difficult financial circumstances that may have been avoided with proactive guidance, thoughtful planning, and trusted advice.

Ben earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and later received his master’s degree in management from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. After business school, he joined Hightower Signature Wealth, formerly known as Private Vista, with a clear purpose: to help individuals and families make confident financial decisions, especially those navigating major life transitions and new financial opportunities.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time anywhere near the beach. When a beach getaway is not on the calendar, he can often be found golfing with friends and family.
