Are you investing for the long term or the latest headlines?
The markets are constantly changing, making it easy for investors to get caught up in the noise and make decisions based on what’s happening today rather than what supports their long-term goals. Our dedicated investment team collaborates with your advisor to develop an investment strategy that aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance, helping keep your portfolio resilient through changing market conditions and aligned with the bigger picture.
What is investment management?
Investment management aims to align your assets with your long-term goals. It’s informed by personal needs as well as financial goals. For example, a plan for a risk-avoidant retiree likely looks different than a plan for a risk-tolerant working professional. Without proper management, it can be harder to keep your wealth on track with your needs and goals.
At Hightower Signature Wealth, our investment platform is anchored by Stephanie Link, Hightower Advisors’ Chief Investment Strategist, Head of Investment Solutions, Equity Portfolio Manager, and CNBC contributor. Her team manages $8.2 billion in assets under management.* Guided by that investment leadership, we develop a bespoke strategy tailored to each client’s goals while providing access to a broad range of investment opportunities, including institutional-level private equity, real estate, and other alternative strategies.

Our investment capabilities
Our investment management process combines institutional-quality research and disciplined portfolio construction with advice tailored to each client’s goals, circumstances and preferences.
1. Understand your full financial picture
We begin by developing a clear understanding of your goals, time horizon, income needs, risk tolerance, tax considerations and existing assets. This provides the foundation for an investment strategy designed around what matters most to you.
2. Develop a research-driven asset allocation
Our Investment Committee establishes strategic asset allocation frameworks informed by long-term capital market assumptions, economic analysis and ongoing market research. These frameworks provide a disciplined starting point for portfolio construction.
3. Create personalized investment recommendations
Your advisor translates this research into formal investment recommendations supported by detailed analytics. Depending on your needs, recommendations may include equities, fixed income, cash management, alternative investments, separately managed accounts and tax-aware strategies.
4. Customize and implement your portfolio
No two clients are alike. Your advisor customizes the portfolio based on your specific circumstances, including liquidity needs, concentrated positions, tax sensitivity, legacy objectives, values and investment preferences.
5. Monitor, report and adapt
We continually evaluate your portfolio against its objectives and make adjustments as your life, goals or market conditions evolve. Personalized reporting provides clear visibility into performance, allocation and progress, helping you stay informed and confident in your strategy.
Our partnership with you
Our philosophy is based on building long-term partnerships. We take the time to understand your goals and build a portfolio around them, your preferred level of risk, your time horizon, and your income needs.
Once we’ve built your portfolio, we’ll continue to manage and monitor it. Our advisors will review your portfolio on a regular cadence that can be quarterly, semi-annually, or annually, depending on your needs. When appropriate, we’ll make adjustments to keep your investments aligned with your needs. Our goal is to make sure that your portfolio accurately reflects your needs and ambitions, changing and growing alongside them.

Have questions?
Your advisor takes the time to understand your financial goals, investment time horizon, and risk tolerance before developing an investment strategy tailored to your needs. These factors help guide how your portfolio is allocated and managed over time.

Your advisor will typically review your portfolio quarterly, semiannually, or annually, depending on your financial plan. If you experience a significant life event or market conditions change meaningfully, your advisor may recommend an additional review to help keep your investment strategy aligned with your goals and risk tolerance.
Our advisors are invested in your future. We take the time to understand what matters most to you and build an investment strategy that fits your needs. That means making sure your investments work alongside the other parts of your financial plan, like retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, and the legacy you want to leave behind.
Every investor has different financial goals, priorities, and preferences. We don’t try and select investments that work for everyone. Instead, our advisors tailor your portfolio to your needs.
That philosophy is also backed by our holistic approach to wealth management. Our investment management isn’t done in a silo from the rest of your financial life without. Our advisors also work to build your financial plan, alongside in-house specialists that offer perspective and visibility into other critical areas of finance. That allows for higher levels of visibility and clarity right from the outset, compared to building a portfolio without that information or receiving it on a delay.
Yes. We believe your investment strategy should be based on your life needs. That means that as life changes, so will the strategy we recommend. Major life events like retirement, changing market conditions, family additions, business sales or even something as simple as a change of heart in your goals can shift your finances. We’re ready to adjust your strategy for whenever life brings change and for wherever you want to go next.
Investment management focuses on managing your assets and investments over time. Financial planning is much broader in scope, as it’s about organizing your full financial life. Financial planning works alongside investment management to help you achieve your financial goals. As an example, areas like cash-flow management, retirement planning, building college funds, and debt organization often fall under financial planning. Areas like portfolio performance and risk diversification are typically part of investment management.
At Hightower Signature Wealth, our wealth management approach includes both financial planning and investment management for holistic, personalized financial guidance.
Investment management fees vary widely across institutions. Many are percentage based, charging either a percent of the total asset value or a percentage of the profits generated by the portfolio. There’s also flat fee-only pricing structures, where a fixed amount is paid on a regular basis for management. Fiduciaries are legally obligated to disclose their full fee structure and potential conflicts of interest upfront to clients.
